What criteria does the matching algorithm use?
The Talks.co matching algorithm looks at a few key factors to help you find the most relevant podcast guests or hosts:
- Topics & Interests
It compares the subjects you're interested in speaking about (or featuring) with what others have listed on their profiles to ensure the best possible alignment.
- Expertise & Industry
The algorithm takes into account your area of expertise and preferred niches, matching you with people who operate in similar or complementary spaces.
- Role Compatibility
It only matches podcast hosts with guests (and vice versa), so you’re not shown people with the same role unless both roles are selected.
- Interview Style & Goals
If you’ve included preferences about the tone, format, or goals of your podcast/interview (e.g. casual chat vs. structured education), the system weighs that too.
- Profile Completeness
More complete and detailed profiles tend to get better matches, because there’s more data to compare and align.
The more specific you are in your profile, the more accurate and useful your matches will be.
